1  Tom Proudfoot's Games / Nahlakh / Re: Nahlakh re-review in Pelit-magazine in Oct 2017 on: December 18, 2017, 06:36:53 pm
The author/programmer of http://helherron.co.nf/ (Helherron, a very Nahlakh- inspired CRPG from Finland) is Finnish as well (I can never correctly remember his name but...Antti Kuuka? Something along those lines.).

5  Tom Proudfoot's Games / Natuk / Re: Any chance of getting Natuk on Steam/GOG? on: March 29, 2016, 07:28:14 am
Hey Soulwind is back!

Though I would love to see Natuk on GOG (I  hate Steam with a passion though) I don't know how feasible this would be. Even the Spiderweb games (Avernum, Geneforge, Avadon) which are probably the most popular 'indie' CRPGs around, only really sell when the prices are severely discounted and Natuk (the original and thus far only version) was already free so you would possibly have to remake the game pretty much and may need to add some content to entice a lot of those guys to spend money on it.

But man would I love to see it happen!

LOL! Unfortunately the game does not run on my Windows XP desktop. Will try it on my laptop once I get the will to.

I finally got this one. I kept forgetting to buy it month after month. Have downloaded and installed but have not yet played (finishing a game of Natuk and also one of P.O.W.S. first).

Hey Tom, if you still read this stuff, any chance you could re-post the map of the Demon world that you posted at the old forums? A bunch of new and veteran (returning to game) players seem to be wanting it.

All the links are dead and lead to a "Hurricane Electrical Services" 404 error page.

You have to pay to hear rumors until someone tells you about the "Old Warehouse" and some snake cultists in there.

You have to do some 'L'ooking at specific tiles to find secret doors.

Do have as many silver weapons and 'Mass Turning' casters as you can when you venture down here.
11  Tom Proudfoot's Games / Unfinished Projects / I seem to have forgotten a lot about PoWS, Any help with these? on: January 30, 2015, 01:01:07 pm
I started a new game to test some new icons I made and it did not take too long to get the plate armor from the last level under the temple of Xentrix, get my 50,000 coins and buy my ship. I remember there is a sewer level somewhere that was tricky to get to but now I cannot remember how to get there. Does anyone else remember how to get to the sewer level where I can defeat that troll? I also seem to remember being able to recruit...'Edwin', I think it was? But I cannot find him either (was he in the sewer level?).

Also, I have taken my ship to many places trying to find out where the 'Salt quest' begins. I thought it was in one of the Hobgoblin cities but thus far I have no luck. Also where is Zhev (the hobgoblin assassin)?

If anyone can help me out here I would appreciate it.

Crap...got caught up in some stuff lately and this week I have the Emerald City Comicon, so...I will have to get Lock 'n' Load in a few weeks.

Wow. I may be able to buy this one on release (depending on some financial things happening in the next few days). I like that it is said to have easy to learn rules as that is my biggest obstacle in playing wargames.

Nice. Will look for it.

Adding to the above:

The reason people tend to save their scrolls of enchantment is because there is an item enchanter in another town (the one near those yeti caves I think) who will give items a +1 enchantment bonus for cash but only up to a +6 maximum. However the scrolls of enchantment (the ones that add a +1 to an item) can increase an item up to +7.

The 'move delay' function, IIRC delays the movement of an  character icon after a mouse click. On most modern PCs with fast processors and such, not using the move delay will result in making a single mouse click which will result in the character zipping across the screen.
